WECARE has started scholarship programs at several primary and middle schools in some of the poor areas of China. More are in the works. Judging by our success so far, WECARE’s programs have a bright future. Laurence Loh

Came to USA in 1967 as a research Chemist, Laurence joined Reichhold Inc., a multinational chemical enterprise. Throughout his 34 years of career, Laurence has taken on a multitude of responsibilities, including serving as senior vice president and a member of the corporate management team. His last assignment was to build a research laboratory for DIC Corporation in Qingdao, China and served as the President. During this period, he witnessed poverty and hardship of the rural lives which prompted him to initiate WECARE (with his friend Evan Sun) in order to give back to the society. Laurence holds a doctoral degree from Technical University of Aachen, Germany.

Lydia Ho

Lydia graduated with a Ph.D degree from University of California at Berkeley and worked for the Boeing Company for 20 years. She's been actively involved in community services including Group Health Cooperative of Washington, Seattle Art Museum and WECARE.

Shan Li

Shan is a University Professor, an academic scholar and a coach for numerous U.S. Open Championship winners. She became a professional Ping Pong player at age 14 and was once a player of the Chinese National Team. She has nearly three decades of University teaching experience and has published numerous academic researches in national academic journals in China. She was once invited to become a visiting scholar in Loughborough Univeristy in United Kingdom, and Yamaguchi University in Japan.

Allen Rui

Allen is a computer science engineer working for Microsoft.

Paul J.C. Yang - Treasurer

Paul received his master degree in Urban Planning from University of North Carolina and worked as a city planner and regional planner for many years. Later on, he worked for Exxon Mobil Corporation in mainland China and for a trading company in Hong Kong. He also founded a company in Beijing that represents a U.S. manufacturer of large-scale turbines and generators.

Shiao-Yen Wu

Shiao-Yen is a successful entrepreneur and owns a real estate management business in Seattle. She graduated from National Taiwan University and worked very hard to build her company from scratch. She's also an activist in community affairs and helping people in need.

Agnes Lee

Born in China, grew up in Hong Kong and Taiwan and migrated to the United States, Agness had a successful career as vice president from a major corporation. Agnes currently lives in Seattle and devotes her effort into helping other artists as well as pursuing her own arts work. She had a major involvement in helping to establish a bone marrow transplant testing program through Tzu Chi Foundation. Agnes holds a Ph.D in Chemistry from the Bryn Mawr College

Bruno Ni

Bruno graduated from Marquette University with an MBA degree in 1975. His career at GE Appliances including 15 years as Manager of Strategic Planning and Product development in Asia/Pacific region. The last 8 years as President of Hai Tien Enterprises, Inc, working to establish OEM manufacturing basis for sporting goods. After 2001 Bruno retired and settled first in Houston and then moved to Henderson Navada. He sponsored a fundraiser for WECARE and introduced many local friends to join the charity effort.

Dori Jones Yang - Secretary

Dori is an author of six books. She worked as a reporter for Business Week for 15 years and served as the bureau chief in the Hong Kong branch. She traveled many places in China and had made visits to schools on behalf of WECARE.

Derek Zhou

Derek graduated from University of Washington.
